How Dota 2 prices work
Every item is priced from its Steam Community Market sales and refreshed daily. Items that barely sell use up to a year of sales, and items with big price swings get an "unstable" tag.
What makes a Dota 2 item worth more
Arcanas and Immortals sit at the top, and items from treasures you can't open any more only get scarcer. On top of that:
- Unusual couriers. The Ethereal gem sets the effect and the Prismatic gem sets its colour. A rare colour and effect combo sells far above the base courier.
- Ultra rares. The ultra rare drop from an Immortal Treasure, often a golden version, is the chase item and trades well above the regular Immortals.
- Quality. Inscribed, Genuine, Autographed and Corrupted versions are separate Market items, each with its own price.
The Steam Market has one price per item name, so gems and courier effects aren't in the number you see here. Treat it as the base price.
Items that don't count
Battle Pass rewards are usually account-bound, and Immortal Treasure items are often trade-locked for a year (ultra rares aside). Anything you can't sell on the Market stays out of your total.
Steam Market price vs. cash
Market prices include Steam's 5% fee and Valve's 10% game fee, so selling there nets you about 13% less, paid as Steam Wallet funds you can't withdraw. Cash sites set their own prices.
